New Business

  • Resolution #1 – motion to reduce dues to 1% + $10 to EDF
  • Grievance – Bieker – During the original negotiations of our current contract, all brothers and sisters received a flat 72 cent increase in wages to cover the cost of MERP(31cents) and Food Fund (41 cents). Placing a flat rate in a percentage based wage structure shrinks the distance between the min and max pay for each rank. This caused the max for each rank to be approx 29 cents too low resulting in what would be a less than 5% increase to max at your final step. The union filed a grievance based on that we thought the lower max was an error on the City’s part. Turns out the error was no one’s fault and the city still decided to increase the max for all ranks, give back pay to October 1, 2010 for those who are maxed, and have adjusted the paramedic stipend by 4 cents. Sorry ILS folks, we were .08 away from getting you a penny on your stipend.
  • Mobile Santa – Bieker – Dec 20 -23, needs volunteers to drive, run, and HO, HO, HO!
  • Any other new business
